Personality Research Form (PRF)

User Level: B

The Personality Research Form (PRF) is an extensively researched and validated measure of normal personality. The PRF is designed to yield scores for personality traits relevant to the functioning of individuals in a wide variety of situations. Based to a large extent upon Murray’s framework for the description of personality, the PRF focuses on areas of normal functioning rather than psychopathology. The PRF is comprised of 352 true-false items and requires about 45 minutes to complete. French and Spanish versions are also available.

The PRF is well suited for personnel selection in industrial and business settings as well as to supplement other sources of information about clients in clinics and guidance centers.

What the PRF Measures

The PRF is comprised of 22 scales which measures the following dimensions:

Abasement Achievement
Affiliation Aggression
Autonomy Change
Cognitive Structure Defendence
Dominance Endurance
Exhibition Harm Avoidance
Impulsivity Nurturance
Order Play
Sentience Social Recognition
Succorance Understanding
Infrequency Desirability

PRF Report

PRF Extended Report includes profiles for the 22 PRF Personality Scales as well as for the 8 Vocational Preference Scales. Administrative indices and an interpretive paragraph making use of the Infrequency and Desirability scale are provided. Introductory text and scale descriptions are also included which make the PRF Extended Report easy for respondents to understand.

Personality Research Form and PRF are copyright 1964, 1974, 1984, and 1997 by Douglas N. Jackson, PhD.
