The New Workforce Inventory (NWI) is a
personality inventory designed specifically for use as an employee selection and
assessment tool. The NWI is comprised of 182 items that are rated on
multiple choice rating scales. Most people can complete the NWI in 30
minutes. The NWI provides a comprehensive picture of an individual's
functioning in areas critical to success in a wide range of positions.
The NWI is not based upon a clinical
instrument and was purposely developed for use by human resource and management
professionals. It can be used as a stand-alone assessment or used as a
position-matching tool in conjunction with its sister instrument, the Job
Requirements Questionnaire (JRQ), a single or multi-rater job analysis tool that
measures the same dimensions as the NWI. A brief version of the NWI,
the New Workforce Inventory (Short Form Personal Report) is also available which reports solely
the percentile rankings for the rankings and dimensions. The Short Form report facilitates job
profile matching with the JRQ but does not provide interpretive or developmental information
found on the full-length New Workforce Inventory.
What the
NWI Measures and Reports
The NWI
measures the following six major dimensions:
 |
Flexibility/Adaptability |

An analysis and percentile ranking of the test
taker's score on each dimension is provided in addition to a more detailed facet
analysis of each dimension. This is combined with interpretive comments
and definitions for each dimension and its facets.
