pan CEO quoted in Workforce Magazine
May 4, 2004
Performance Assessment Network, Inc. (pan) reported today that CEO David T. Pfenninger was recently quoted in Workforce Magazine, one of the premier sources of information for hiring, recruiting, and other human resource professionals.
The comments appear in the article Screening Our Bad High-Level Hires, by Michelle V. Rafter, which reviews case studies and expert opinions on the increased use of personality, biodata, behavioral interview, and other forms of assessments for managerial and executive candidates. Pfenninger notes that accountability concerns for defensible hiring are indeed on the increase and have helped drive pans robust sales of executive personality and related instruments the past several years. pan is the largest distributor of secure, web-based testing and assessment products internationally, and manages the managerial assessment programs for many Fortune 500 and major government clients, including Procter & Gamble, also discussed in Rafters article.
The recent high-profile stories of criminal executives damaging both public and private organizations, combined with 9/11 security concerns, have helped stimulate great interest on the part of human resource professionals, senior executives, and boards in getting better predictive information regarding new senior job candidates and incumbents alike, comments Pfenninger. Validated assessment instruments are the best predictor available in most cases and their cost-effectiveness makes them must-have elements of any selection program. Companies not using assessments leave themselves open to liability claims of inadequate due diligence in hiring.
