Today Performance Assessment Network (pan) www.pantesting.com - announced it has put into production an e-testing solution
for pre-employment screening and incumbent technical skills assessments for the Gary Works division of United States Steel
Corporation (U.S. Steel), the largest integrated steel plant in North America.
pan has web-enabled the steel manufacturer's technical skills tests and is delivering them online to both potential and
current employees via proctored on-site testing kiosks at the U.S. Steel Gary Works plant. The skills tests were initially
developed specifically for U.S. Steel by one of pan's content partners - The Ramsay Corporation and delivered in a paper
and pencil format. The new platform is completely web-based using the pan engine but with the look and feel of the U.S.
Steel brand.
Michael C. Beeler, Manager-HR & Training described the solution this way, "Delivery of assessments online has
allowed us to increase the number of applicants we are able to test in a given day and freed up precious administrative
support staff time. Each assessment previously took 20 minutes to tabulate results and notify the applicant. We now receive
results instantly. The pan e-testing solution developed for U. S. Steel is proving to be a solid investment for our company."
&quo;U.S. Steel was already using the tests developed by The Ramsay Corporation one of our long-term content partners so
putting those proven assessments online was the next natural step," commented pan CEO David Pfenninger. "The chance
to serve a well-known customer like U.S. Steel while extending our relationship further with The Ramsay team has equated to
a winning hand for all parties," continued Pfenninger. "More broadly, this is a great example of high-technology
augmenting the traditional personnel needs of a major manufacturing corporation. We think it serves as a clear paradigm for
other situations where the automation of hiring, training, and other human capital measurements creates the processing
efficiencies expected by world-class manufacturers."
