Q: Why does pan require information on completed education level?
A: Since some of the products pan offers are "controlled" professional instruments and have certain
user qualification levels (this largely applies to clinical assessment tools and certain human resource tests), you will be asked to provide information about your education and professional background. The type and amount of information you will be asked to provide is dependent upon the types of tests you wish to utilize. This individual information is used for this purpose and this purpose only. (Please see our
Privacy Policy for details).

A: pan selects tests based upon several quality assurance criteria:

- Empirical data supporting their validity and reliability
- Utilization of items which are appropriate and relevant for their intended use (criterion relevance)
- Consistency with EEOC and ADA guidelines
- Offered by a reputable test developer

Q: What if I don't see the tests my company currently uses?
A: There is a good probability that a test similar to the test your company is using (or perhaps a
better test) is available on pan. If not, please contact us with the test you are
interested in. We will research the instrument and if it meets our criteria, we will approach that publisher
to see if they are willing to join the pan test community.

Purchasing Tests
Q: How do I determine which tests are appropriate for my organization?
A: Because of pans large roster, many of the tests available on pan are likely appropriate for your
organization depending upon your needs. For instance, pan has tests targeted at job applicant screening and
selection, employee training and development, and management and leadership development.
To facilitate your use of instruments on pan, we have gone to considerable lengths and worked extensively
with test publishers to make test manuals and other documentation available free of charge so that you can
make an informed decision about which instruments are most appropriate for your individual situation
(Registered users can access this documentation through their pan Box.)
However, if you are unfamiliar with testing, pan has entered into partnerships with many testing experts
around the world and can arrange for one of them to contact you to determine your testing needs. The fees
for these engagements vary and would be determined between the consultant and your organization. You can
contact us to arrange for this service or to schedule an appointment with one of
our representatives.

Q: How can I create a battery of assessments that will allow me to easily administer multiple assessments to
a single candidate while allowing the candidate to take the assessments by only having to log in once?
A: You can create your own custom battery of assessments. After you login, click on “product catalog.”
Click “test batteries” and then “create a new battery.” Select the assessments that you would like to
include in your battery by numbering sequentially each assessment in the order you would like the multiple
assessments administered. Click submit and enter your personalized battery name for the group of assessments
you’ve selected. You can then go to “batteries” and order the battery without having to order and administer each
individual assessment.

Taking Tests
Q: How does someone take a test?
A: In order for an individual to take a test, he or she must either click the active URL link in the
automatic notification e-mail you sent them from your pan Box, or log-on to
www.pantesting.com, click Logon to take my test and
advance to the Tester ID page. If the individual enters the test-taking environment through the URL link in
their notification, the required IDs will automatically be entered. If the individual enters through the
website, they will be required to supply the Tester ID you assigned them in addition to your Administrator
ID. This will route your test taker directly to the instrument you would like them to complete.
Q: How long does it take a test taker to complete a test?
A: The length of a test depends on the type of test being taken. The time ranges from 5 minutes to 125
minutes, with the average test being less than 30 minutes. Time estimates are provided for each test in the
Product Catalog.
Q: What happens if a testing session is interrupted or terminated for some reason?
A: The test takers answers are maintained from the point of the last answer page that was submitted.
Q: What should test takers do if their testing session is interrupted or terminated before they finish a test?
A: The test taker should log back into the testing environment using the Tester ID and Administrator ID you
have provided them. They should do this as soon as possible because a Tester ID will expire 24-hours after a
test is started. This procedure is included in the Directions page for all tests on pan.
Q: If my test taker's session is expired, what happens?
A: You will be automatically notified of such an event in your pan Box. You will then have the ability to
reactivate the Tester ID and the test taker can then complete the test.
Q: What happens if a test taker stops entering data?
A: If no mouse clicks are detected within an hour the session is terminated. The Tester ID remains active,
allowing for resumption of the session at any time before the 24-hour expiration. Previously submitted
responses are maintained.

Reviewing Reports
Q: What occurs after a test taker completes a test and submits it?
A: The test takers responses are sent to the scoring server for scoring.
Q: How fast are the test results returned to my pan Box?
A: A test is scored and the report generated within moments (usually less than three minutes under most
conditions). The report is then posted in the Test Administrators pan Box. The report will be in PDF
format. You will need Adobe Acrobat to read it. If you do not yet have Adobe Acrobat installed on your
machine, here is information
about how to obtain it.
Q: What kind of information is returned to me after a test taker completes a test?
A: Test reports vary depending on the test. Regardless of the test, though, you can expect to receive a
comprehensive report. This norm-based analysis may also include developmental suggestions and guidelines.
Sample test reports are available in your pan Box. These reports may be downloaded to print, save to hard
drive or disk, sent as e-mail attachments, or accessed at any time by simply clicking the Tester ID in your
pan Box.

Confidentiality and Security
Q: How does pan ensure the confidentiality of my registration information?
A: Registration information is used to determine your qualifications to administer the various assessments
available on pan. None of this information will be sold or redistributed, but group data may be compiled and
redistributed or sold in the form of research, special industry reports, and pan usage pattern studies. pan
may occasionally send e-mail to all Test Administrators with news or announcements. You can stop this by
notifying us of your desire.
Q: How does pan ensure the security of the test data?
A: For obvious reasons, we are very concerned about protecting all of the information on pan because of its
sensitive and personal nature. We use advanced security methods that include multiple levels of password
access, SSL encryption of personal data, test responses, and assessment reports, off-line scoring servers,
and detailed behavioral analysis of the testing and security context by experts in psychometrics and internet
security. For this reason, we do not store credit card data (which is the reason why credit card numbers must
be entered for each transaction, if this is your payment method). Test reports travel through encryption.
pan Management is committed to proving that its security model for professional testing surpasses that of any
other testing method, including paper and pencil.
